The local news said that both the International Space Station and Space Shuttle Endeavor would be visible in the sky tonight for about a minute beginning at 9:29 pm and they didn’t leave us disappointed. At just before 9:30pm we grabbed the binoculars and the girls and headed out the front door. Stepping out into the yard we didn’t even have time to use them, for on our first glance to the skies we could clearly see both moving steadily from NW to NE across the dark clear sky. ISS came first, with the shuttle just a few seconds behind it. Of course the seconds represents thousands of miles and the in the 50 seconds or so that we watched them both, they were traveling at 22 times the speed of sound - Amazing!
Although we didn't have the camcorder handy, it looked a lot like this.
